Now that the Back-to-School rush is (somewhat) behind us, I have time to reflect and ponder. How cool was it to return to school after 2 months of fun and games? Seriously… I really did LOVE to go back to school.
My mom and I would make it a point to go and shop for my supplies together, list in hand. I remember that big box stores didi not cut it for my school supplies. I always wanted to go to a dingy and small “papeterie” on the Plateau Mont Royal, a place that had been there forever and where dust bunnies rubbed shoulders with Staedtler erasers and HB pencils.
What I loved most about this place were the colour crayons that they sold. Brands from Germany and France, neatly stored in metal boxes. It was the dream for me!
When I saw the pictures of this home they reminded me of pencils exactly. The way they were stacked in the box, in a rainbow order as first but then in a mix of primary colours as I did not have the patience to put them all back where they belonged.
How energizing and exciting are the bedrooms with their bold punches of colour, mixed with black and white accents for form.
Did you notice also that there is not one standard wooden floor in this house? They are either painted or covered with wall-to-wall sisal rugs, and the owners even pushed the audacity to the point of introducing a Kelly green carpet in the dorm style bedroom on the upper floor. That room has me wondering on the number of children these people have… Anyhooo
Have a great Monday young grasshoppers and I’ll chat with you all soon again. Ta-ta for now.
