On this day of Halloween, while goblins and princesses are about to roam the streets, my eye keeps getting caught by this colour which creates an emotional reaction within me every time…orange. I have confessed to this many times, I am more than partial to this bright hue.

Whether it is because I am a 70′s child and I grew up surrounded by burnt orange shag wall-to-wall carpeting, or because I have an infatuation with the brand whose boxes are eponymous of luxury, I couldn’t tell you but there is something about orange that really makes me happy.

I have long looked for an opportunity to do a whole room in orange, but marriage being what it is, I had to come to terms with a happy medium of orange accents in most rooms. That being said, I have to agree that it was probably the wisest choice as these pumpkin hued throw pillows, kitchen tools and bath mats give energy to each room without being to overpowering.

In small doses or in massive splashes, I would advise anyone to try a bit of the orange remedy. After all wasn’t it a smart physician who said… an orange a day keeps the doctor away?

Chaque année, l’Halloween est l’occasion par excellence pour se glisser dans la peau d’un personnage, se montrer sous un autre jour et jouer un nouveau rôle le temps d’une soirée. Vanessa, je ne crois pas me tromper en disant que tu dois être dans les préparatifs de la tournée d’Halloween avec tes P’tits Loups (En quoi se déguiseront-ils?!), mais auras-tu un party à ton horaire de fille occupée?

Niveau mode, la fête d’Halloween est tout simplement merveilleuse.  Toutefois, le choix du costume est pour moi un vrai casse-tête à chaque fois. Comment être mignonne sans entrer dans les clichés ou dans la lignée des sexy-infirmières/sexy-pompières/sexy-policières/sexy-etc-en-ères?

Pour être à la fois féminine et top-tendance en 2011, le costume d’hôtesse Pan Am sera incontournable. Non seulement il est facile à réaliser, mais vous pourrez jouer le jeu avec votre groupe d’amies et faire tourner les têtes comme Karine Vanasse et Christina Ricci.

ABC offre d’ailleurs un document expliquant comment fabriquer un chapeau à la maison (Juste ICI). N’oubliez pas vos gants blancs, les chaussures noires (Pas de vertigineux stilettos!), votre uniforme bleu royal (Les friperies seront vos meilleurs amies) et le tour sera joué.

Niveau coiffure, il suffira de s’inspirer des années 60… Et d’opter pour un maquillage très très naturel, sans artifices.
