“Without black, no color has any depth. But if you mix black with everything, suddenly there’s shadow – no, not just shadow, but fullness. You’ve got to be willing to mix black into your palette if you want to create something that’s real.” – Amy Grant

The gorgeous appartment of Australian designer Chelsea Hing & partner Nik Epifanidis, an architecture photographer, is a showcase of beautiful vintage finds set on a magic black baskdrop.

The White House

white decor inspiration

I often find that monochrome decors lack warmth and personnality, that is until I saw this home. The white background is the ideal canvas to bring forth the wood elements ant the architecture of the chosen furniture. Me like it a lot!

This home actually inspires me all sorts of ideas for the next season of my tv show Sauvez les Meubles…. hummmm, but that’s all I am going to say for now. You’ll just have to watch it, as of August 14th, to see.

Have a great week lovelies,

xoxo

egg chair

How do you feel about this cognac leather Arne Jacobsen’s Egg Chair set on an otherwise contemporary & white canvas of a room? How’s that for a statement piece. What is your most coveted iconic piece of furniture? Hummm, the question is almost impossible for me to answer as there are so many I lust over, but one thing’s for sure… all are chairs! This confession deserves a hashtag of its own #ChairAddict. :o)

Let the Sunshine In

country-and-feminine-chic

Like an old Hair song, today I feel like letting the sunshine IN! Wouldn’t you agree that the sunshine should be thought of as a decorative accent? The way it transforms the paint colour on the walls, how warm south facing light looks completely different from a northern exposed room with its cooler intake of rays, and how sunshine plays a crucial role in the artificial light sources we choose in our homes.

So today, on this snowy friday morning (Yah I know, in mid-April!!), I dedicate this home’s decor to the sun! Come back soon buddy, you have been missed for a few months over here!

xoxo
