“Without black, no color has any depth. But if you mix black with everything, suddenly there’s shadow – no, not just shadow, but fullness. You’ve got to be willing to mix black into your palette if you want to create something that’s real.” – Amy Grant

The gorgeous appartment of Australian designer Chelsea Hing & partner Nik Epifanidis, an architecture photographer, is a showcase of beautiful vintage finds set on a magic black baskdrop.

Cool & Collected: the Vintage Approach

feminine bedroom with mismatched textured patterns

I saw this bedroom featured on Design*Sponge a couple of weeks ago and my heart skipped a beat. Then I perused the rest of the home’s pictures and I was furthermore delighted.

The layering of textures and patterns cozy things up in the bedroom while the many vintage finds, scattered throughout the house, give it a lived-in feel.

Have a great weekend lovelies and, I am off to the cottage. Also if you are in Québec, don’t forget to participate the Home Depot contest to get a chance to win 5000$ to create your dream patio. The contest ends May 5th so hurry!

Kerala headboard by John Robshaw

Pink is not only for little girls anymore. Dare to embrace this feminine hue with a boldly patterned wallpaper, a textured quilt or an anything but subtle upholstered headboard.

And, while we’re ar it, why not put the bed and its Pinkalicious headboard up against the window to create an even more layered look with the lighteness of the curtains against the intricate pattern of the headboard.

Tilton Fenwick Maxwell Foster loft decor

When I am feeling blue, or when I am red with rage, all I need is a little colour. The New York home of Tilton Fenwick’s owner Anne Maxwell Foster has me green with envy. But not too worry, I am perfectly content with my own humble abode which does not prevent me from being tickled pink once in a while by interiors such as this one.

Happy Easter Monday lovelies!
