Artful Colours

Between white walls and hardwood floors, the Mid Century Modern elements shine

Somewhere in Norway, bathed in natural light, this apartment is anything but bland. It is for me the mixture of the white walls, light coloured hardwood floors and the pops of bright artworks sprinkled like little candies on a cream frosting, that makes it all so yummy!

Art in the kitchen is a clever way to add colour

The kitchen, all white and very sleek in essence, has added “whimsy points” with the addition of the bust in the cloche as well as the modern painting. A very simple Ikea chandelier also counteracts the modern effect of the suspensions oboe the counter.

Where do I begin... I LOVE this dining room arrangement!

The eclectic dining room is a show-stopper for me! The crystal chandelier “caged” in this (what is it?) mica, or fine mesh wire, is contemporary and over sized. Complete this with metal bistro chairs and a large round table et voilà!

A few accents of colour and a great painting make a room instantly

Did you notice how all the art pieces around the house share a common theme? Whether more than one is seen at the same time or not, they create a flow that is visually balanced and fun at the same time.

I admit I wouldn't naturally go for an all white mudroom, but here it works beautifully.

The bedrooms make it for me! The yellow chair, the rough wool throw, the makeshift bookshelf in the nursery and guess what… the art! Yup that’s it, I am going to get some art into my life!

Have a great day et xxx
